The Orvis Podcast: What Does the American Fly Fishing Trade Association Do for Conservation? with Lucas Bissett

[Interview starts at 38:00]

From Tom Rosenbauer: My guest this week is Capt. Lucas Bissett, executive director of the American Fly Fishing Trade Association (AFFTA). Lucas talks about the support they give to small, grassroots organizations for education and habitat protection—organizations that may not be able to apply for larger grants. One of their current projects, which we discuss in detail, is how ocean fish stocks will be managed as a result of the changes in migration patterns due to climate change. Lucas tells us that the federal organizations that set regulations for harvest and size lengths are very responsive to public input, so its something where you can make a difference.
