Meet Rivfly’s Euro Nymphing Flies: Perdigons, Frenchies, and More

Blog Updates

A smooth Perdigon body, a segmented Frenchie, a bright hot tag: small differences are easy to appreciate when the flies are side by side. For AFFTA members getting to know Rivfly, these are a few of the details behind our current nymph selection.

Rivfly’s Euro Nymphing collection brings together individual patterns, mixed fly packs, and tying materials. Here is a closer look at the flies themselves, from compact Perdigons to two different Frenchie styles and a twelve-fly assortment that puts three patterns in one package.

Perdigons: A Closer Look

Our Glow Attractor Perdigons are tied in size #18, with slim epoxy-coated bodies, slotted tungsten beads, Coq de Leon tails, and barbless jig-style hooks. The range includes three distinct colors: Green, Pink, and Rust. Green has a phosphorescent finish that glows after charging; Pink adds bright contrast; Rust offers a quieter brown-toned profile.

The mixed packs make the contents straightforward: six flies means two of each color, while twelve means four of each. The name “Glow Attractor” covers the range, but the finishes differ. The Green version’s fading afterglow is a different feature from the Pink version’s high visibility.

There is also a smaller option: our #20 Micro Perdigon in Olive and Orange. It combines a resin-coated body with an approximately 2.8 mm offset-hole JIG OFF tungsten bead. This pattern uses a barbless curved standard nymph hook, so it is a different construction from the #18 jig-style Perdigon.

Frenchies in the Rivfly Range

Our Tungsten Frenchie Nymphs bring a more textured finish to the selection. A coated synthetic-quill body creates the segmentation, with a dubbing collar and sparse Coq de Leon tail completing the profile. The flies are available in #12 and #14 on barbless curved standard nymph hooks.

The two collar options are Red Trigger and Sulfur Yellow. Individual packs let buyers stay with one color, while the mixed twelve-pack contains six of each. Both share the same basic body construction, making the collar color an easy detail to compare.

Alongside that standard-hook pattern, we offer the Hot Tag Frenchie on a barbless jig hook. These are separate products with different silhouettes. Keeping the hook styles clearly identified matters when a shop or guide is looking for a particular addition to an existing selection.

Three Patterns in One Pack

The Rivfly Select Series Euro Nymph Pro Kit offers a compact introduction to the range. Each twelve-fly pack contains:

  • Four #18 Glow Attractor Perdigons.
  • Four #14 standard-hook Tungsten Frenchies.
  • Four #14 Hot Tag Frenchies on jig hooks.

The assortment brings together a smooth Perdigon profile, a segmented Frenchie, and a bright hot-tag pattern. Having four of each leaves room for a spare without buying three separate packs. All three patterns are tungsten weighted, and the kit deliberately includes both standard and jig-style hooks.

The packaged assortment and individual pattern packs provide different ways to explore the same range. A shop can look at the mixed selection, while a guide already familiar with a particular pattern can focus on that fly’s available sizes and pack options.
