Safeguarding Alaska's World-class Fisheries: Bristol Bay and beyond [VIRTUAL EVENT]

Description

In a remote corner of Alaska lies the crown jewel of North American fly fishing. Home to crystal clear streams filled with trophy trout, massive brown bears, and millions of salmon. This is Bristol Bay; a region of international importance. 

For decades, this area has been threatened by the proposed Pebble Mine, an open-pit copper mine slated for the fishery’s headwaters. The fly-fishing community has played a key role in securing recent safeguards for the area. Unfortunately, current protections holding off the mine are under attack, and our work to permanently safeguard the region continues. 

This webinar will provide an opportunity to connect with Alaska-based fisheries conservation leaders on current and emerging fish habitat issues as well as delve into the ongoing efforts to safeguard it for generations to come.
